Poetry, Short Stories and Poetry
Pieces, Poetry, Releases, Volume 1

-Keiraj M. Gillis

the instructions say “add water”

but everyone knows it’s better with milk.

who cares what the box says anyway?

the person who wrote those instructions

is a person you don’t know.

who are they to tell you

that your heart is misinformed

when it implores

“i would be happier with this instead”?

stop adding water

just because someone who thinks

they know you

said.

KEIRAJ M. GILLIS is a gothic and spiritual poet whose works explore the mind and the esoteric. His poetry collections include St. Sagittarius, The Gentleman Vagrant, and Handsome for One More Day, which are projects that have allowed him to document his spiritual journey. He enjoys his work as a publisher and spends his time immersing himself in the culture of the American South and Southwest.
